Founded in 2022, the Luxembourg Drone Federation (LDF) is an organisation that brings together and represents all stakeholders in the drone sector in the Grand Duchy.
Chaired by Gilles Rock, the federation relies on a board of directors made up of six members, reflecting the diversity of the sector: from independent operators to larger professional structures.
In full expansion, the LDF is establishing itself as a key interlocutor in supporting the responsible, innovative, and secure development of the drone ecosystem in Luxembourg.
The LDF’s mission is to:
- Unite drone operators around shared values of professionalism, safety and innovation
- Represent the interests of the sector to national and European authorities
- Facilitate dialogue with all stakeholders: institutions, businesses, research centres and citizens
- Support skills development through partnerships with recognised training centres or by informing and training its members on regulatory developments, best practices and topics specific to their activities
- Promote responsible and innovative uses of drones in various fields such as agriculture, logistics, security, mapping and audiovisual services
- Contribute to the development of a clear, appropriate and evolving regulatory framework that ensures user safety and respects privacy
- Participate in strategic and structuring projects related to the drone sector, particularly in training, research, logistics, agriculture, and security
The LDF also works to strengthen the visibility of the sector, encourage synergies between public and private actors and position Luxembourg as a territory of experimentation and excellence in the field of drones.
